In a former life she was one of Penthouse magazine's
most published beauties worldwide, but now the blonde goddess
parlays her looks – and talent -- into mainstream success
Alexus Winston 's star is definitely on the rise. With talent to rival her looks, it won't be long until she's a bankable name in mainstream entertainment. Winston's high-profile appearances on the E! Entertainment Television show Wild On! have garnered a lot of well-deserved media attention, and as a result, the actress and model is becoming a favorite in men's lifestyle publications.
Flush from a photo feature in Maxim magazine, former Penthouse Pet of the Year and international cover girl Winston comments, “Shooting for Maxim is one of the highlights of my career. It was so much fun, and the staff is incredible. I am absolutely fortunate to have worked with them.” In addition to a series of awesome still images, Maxim filmed the Soho Grand Hotel shoot. The video can be viewed at www.maximonline.com in the Maxim Lounge.
Other men's lifestyle magazines are in queue to lens Winston, who just wrapped filming in the Roger Corman film Final Exam, in which she plays a district attorney. Her resume and portfolio are posted at www.alexuswinston.net .
The sunny, upbeat TV personality and burgeoning actress who grew up in the private resort community of Spring Valley Lake, in the High Desert of California, is an athlete with a passion for long distance running, fitness and outdoor sports. An experienced wakeboarder, Winston and her friends churn up the water on her Ski Nautique boat every chance they get.
Winston, as one of Penthouse magazine's most published beauties worldwide since her 1997 debut – "and by far the most popular," according to Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione, -- is transitioning gracefully to mainstream entertainment, with an LA Times interview, covers for AVN Online and the 2004 Mystique calendar, as well as upcoming shoots for sports publications. So far, Winston has gotten Wild On! from New York City's famed Webster Hall nightclub, and then jetted off, TV crew in tow, to Costa Rica in search of the exotic locale's sizzling nightlife.
Although she has already starred in a TV pilot that was filmed in New York (included in her impressive demo reel), Winston, like all serious actors, remains relentless in further refining her thespian craft, dedicating countless hours each week to acting classes with respected coach Barry Primus (Robert De Niro) as she explores the art's many genres and nuances.
In addition to the TV pilot and her Wild On! assignments, Winston is considering several movie scripts that have crossed her desk, which isn't surprising since she already possesses name-brand appeal. What is surprising, however, is that her smooth shift to TV personality has occurred without the clout of an agent.
Winston says she's accomplishing this odds-defying feat through "networking, acting classes, getting a p.r. firm, and busting my butt," she laughs. "I posed for Penthouse , I'm happy about it, and now I am moving forward in my acting career."
A consummate professional with dynamic talent and perseverance, she's definitely Alexus MAXIMUS. |
